Our story
Donsøer is a bridge between worlds. On one side stands the deep spiritual tradition and mastery of Eastern craftsmanship, on the other side Western discipline, minimalism and an uncompromising eye for detail. In our Prague studio, we connect these two worlds. Here, we cultivate the raw material into a form that meets the demands of modern life without losing its soul.
West direction
We follow the European design tradition, where a sense of proportion, purity and functional precision reign. The West brings order and the modern aesthetic of minimalism to our products - the art of stripping away all that is unnecessary to highlight the essence. It is the meeting of Eastern spirituality with European artisanal detail that gives rise to timelessness.
Soul of the East
We seek where craftsmanship still means a life path and a deep connection with nature. The scent of solid wood from Jepara, Indonesia, the touch of hand-woven linen from Indian looms or the patience of Asian masters in Thailand and China. The East gives us raw energy, organic shapes and the wisdom of materials that carry the peace of centuries.
Creation
"My name is Nitin and Donsøer is a reflection of my personal journey. As a person of half Czech and half Indian descent, I have been given a rare gift: the ability to fully embrace and understand both cultures.
My life is not divided between two places, it is a connection between them. I have learned to see the world through two different lenses, and in Donsøer I have aligned these perspectives into one vision...
Values that guide us
Bold.
Bold for us does not mean eccentricity. Boldness is the ability to go against excess, against speed, against noise. To choose silence where others shout. Simplicity where it is customary to complicate.
Authenticity.
We remain true to what is real. In materials that have their origin. In shapes that make sense. In craftsmanship that bears the marks of the human hand. We seek beauty in what has depth. Not in what is just a facade.

Commitment for us is a daily dedication to do everything honestly, consciously and with respect. To the material, to the client, to the space. We take care of every detail, because we believe that it is in the details that true peace is created.

In 2025, we rejected 56.7% of the delivered materials , it was not an empty gesture. It was a necessity. If Donsøer is to be a symbol of true quality, we cannot accept anything less than perfection.

The wood is very well crafted. I have been working with wood my whole life and I must admit that the hand carving is clean and the proportions are right. Hats off to the woodcarvers in Indonesia.
